We are hoping to create a space that allows Fellows to have a completely new relationship to their art, largely free from financial constraints and market concerns. We are trying to create an ecosystem that provides the freedom to create significant works that are relevant in our current culture. Fellows can expect the following:
- A $50,000 annual stipend, disbursed monthly for each year of your Fellowship
- A personal studio space in the MAA's renovated 19th century building in the historic and artistic Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle, Washington
- A materials stipend that Fellows can use to purchase whatever materials they need for their projects. Stipends will be limited, and any need beyond these stipends will be the responsibility of each Fellow.
- Model stipend – Fellows will receive a model stipend for the hiring of models for their projects. Stipends will be limited, and any need beyond these stipends will be the responsibility of each Fellow.
- We have 4 studio apartments we can also offer to select Fellows as an added benefit
- 5 one-on-one remote mentorship sessions per quarter with a professional artist mentor to help give specific feedback for your projects
- Mission driven art – We are on a mission to redefine the role of traditional art in the modern world, creating art that can have a lasting impact on people’s lives.
- Collaborative environment – Work alongside other talented artists who share your passion for creating meaningful, impactful art.
- An entire ecosystem of support – we have our own dedicated film/promotion team, onsite gallery, prestigious museum, growing patronage, annual invitational exhibition/patronage ball, ongoing mentorship and group feedback.
- Showcase Opportunities – Have your work shown in our galleries, as well as select pieces in our Museum. Benefit also from the sale of prints through our website and museum store.
