This class is open to all students, aspiring artists and professional artists looking to improve their figure drawing skills. It is an in depth academic study of the human figure. Students work on drawings of one pose from a live model for the full 4 weeks. This gives students a total of 48 hours of drawing time on their drawings. Students have designated spots in the model room where they work from the model each day. In this class students work in charcoal on Hahnemuhle Ingres paper. Students spend time developing a greater sensitivity to all the elements of figure drawing from line, proportion, rhythm and balance to form, light, weight, space and anatomy. Students wanting to paint the figure must first demonstrate proficiency in drawing before being approved to paint. Students wanting to enroll in this class must commit to attending at least 2 of the 4 sessions per week. This class is part of our full-time program, and as such is mostly filled with our full-time students. This class is only available for part-time students if there is space available in the model room. Those interested in registering for this class must call or email in advance to check on space availability.
